Investing in our future.

Supporting families, children, and youth.

OUR MISSION:

Bravelight Youth Services Inc. has been providing outreach and residential placement services for youth in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development since 2011. We put an emphasis on providing a therapeutic culture within our homes and general programming framework. Our intention at BYS is to provide safe, secure, and supportive services for children and youth. We understand that there is no “one size fits all” solution for our children, youth, and their families. We value each person we work with as an individual with unique needs, talents, challenges, and personalities. Our aim is to help them develop the tools needed to transition and thrive in today’s complex world. Our mission is to build a brighter future for all our youth, and through them, for all of us.

OUR PHILOSOPHY:

At Bravelight, we believe that nurturing the relationships between the caregivers and our clients is the pillar on which can build our most effective results. Mentorship and the modeling of healthy productive lifestyles is very important in the Bravelight structure. We believe that youth can find a type of self-determination within the boundaries expressed by the guardians and/or social workers. At the same time, we work to provide the necessary scaffolding to help support our youth through potential setbacks.  Bravelight seeks to empower children and youth to achieve their full potential both practically and emotionally so that they can be productive members of their families, communities, and society as a whole. We use a trauma informed, strength-based approach, and are equipped with many caregiver directed problem solving techniques. If it is the wish of the guardians and social workers, an importance is put on healthy reintegration of our clients into the family setting that they came from. Regardless of destination, we encourage and support children and youth in areas of self-development, self-awareness, and personal growth.
